Three heads...

Had bought three Faber-Castell pencils from their Albrecht Durer (AD) range. Water soluble coloured pencils in Dark flesh, Medium Flesh and Light Flesh. I had intended buying the colours in the Polychromos (P) range but lifted the water soluble pencils by mistake. Decided to try them out along with brush and water.

Sketched three male heads in my sketchbook and defined them by erasing - didn't want to ink them as I wanted a softer watercolour effect. Left a light graphite outline to follow with colour.

Coloured in skin with AD pencils and applied a wash of water. The pigments blended quite well though some pencil line remained which I liked. Coloured the hair and eyes with P coloured pencils.

Intend to pick up the flesh colours in the P range to see how the results differ. The Polychromos might well work on top of a water blended Albrecht Durer base.
